We have published nearly 100 apps to date—most of them dedicated ebook readers. We’ve really enjoyed bringing great content to the App Catalog, which is why we’re going to launch a completely new line of apps: audiobooks.

We know that reading a book on your Pre or Pixi is a great, but sometimes you simply can’t stare into your screen to read. That’s why we’re taking the great content of Librivox.org and putting it into a full-featured app, so you can listen while you’re on the road, in the gym or even doing the dishes.

We’ve decided to base these apps on the incredible open source webOS app drpodder in order to provide quality content and quality software. We love this app and appreciate Jamie Hatfield for making it open source.

We have also commissioned some fantastic genre-specific icons by Jared R Davis and Emily Davis. We’ve provided a glimpse of the romance genre’s icons below.
