PRESS RELEASE
ANIMAL THEMED DIGITAL WALLPAPERS AVAILABLE
Appible™ today announced its partnership with San Diego Zoo Global to create a new line of Digital Skins™ around the brand. Officially licensed themes and wallpapers for electronic devices such as smartphones, computers, gaming consoles, and tablets will be created and sold by Appible under the new agreement.
“These applications offer unique photos of animals at the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park,” said Ted Molter, director of marketing for San Diego Zoo Global. “Creating an app that shares these fabulous photos is just another way we are engaging people with endangered species.”
San Diego Zoo Digital Skins will be available online, through platform specific app stores, and in gift shops for the holiday season of 2011.
“We are thrilled to be working with the San Diego Zoo,” said Matt Nicolaysen, President of Appible. “The San Diego Zoo has been educating people of all ages for generations. Their efforts to conserve our planet’s wildlife are inspiring and we look forward to assisting them by building both brand and cause awareness.”
As one of the top mobile applications publishers today, Appible™ has created over 1,100 mobile applications across 5 phone platforms (Apple iOS, Android, Blackberry, Palm, Nokia) in 15 world languages, with sales in scores of countries worldwide. Appible also creates content for other electronics and devices such as Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PlaystationPortable – as well as Windows and Mac computers.
The 100-acre San Diego Zoo is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species and their habitats. The organization focuses on conservation and research work around the globe, educates millions of individuals a year about wildlife and maintains accredited horticultural, animal, library and photo collections. The Zoo also manages the 1,800-acre San Diego Zoo Safari Park (historically referred to as the Wild Animal Park), which includes a 900-acre native species reserve, and the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research. The important conservation and science work of these entities is supported in part by The Foundation of the Zoological Society of San Diego.
